NJNG Plans "Energy Assistance Days" Through October

This September and October, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) will host its annual Energy Assistance Days with 25 events throughout Monmouth, Ocean and Morris counties.

Beginning September 9, the gas utility along with state-designated agencies, will be on-hand throughout Monmouth County to guide customers through the eligibility and application process.

These in-person events provide customers an opportunity to learn about and apply for grants to help pay their energy bills.

Customers can also learn about energy-efficiency programs to help lower their energy bills. Income guidelines are higher than you might expect. For example, a family of four with a household income of up to $140,000 may qualify.

Customers attending an Energy Assistance Day, please be sure to bring the following items:

  • Social Security Cards

  • Proof of income for all household members 18 years and older

  • Government-issued ID for applicant

  • Deed or rental lease

  • Recertification form (if applicable)

  • Recent natural gas and electricity bill

For the full list of dates and locations visit njng.com/energyassistance. For questions, call NJNG at 800-221-0051 and say “energy assistance” at the prompt.
