SJI Receives Internship Partner Appreciation Award from Stockton University

FOLSOM - SJI recently received the Internship Partner Appreciation Award from Stockton University at its annual Internship Partner Appreciation Breakfast held on Stockton University’s Atlantic City Campus. The breakfast is an opportunity for Stockton University to express its gratitude to its esteemed partners who play a vital role in shaping the future of its students.

“SJI was recognized for this honor because of its yearlong commitment to hosting Stockton student interns in various roles throughout the organization, but more so for their engagement with student professional development activities including but not limited to attending career and internship fairs, facilitating career topic workshops, reviewing resumes during resume rush and connecting majors to careers through classroom presentations,” said Dayna DeFiore, Assistant Director of Career Education and Development, Stockton University.

“SJI is humbled and deeply honored to receive Stockton University’s Annual Internship Partner Appreciation Award,” said Karen Phillips, Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, SJI. “Mentoring, gaining hands-on experience and having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our business and in the communities we serve are exciting ways that we welcome our early-career professionals at SJI.”

SJI offers a variety of different professional development programs, each with a robust schedule of events.

SJI’s IGNITE Internship Program is an 11-week, full-time program offering college students a great way to immerse themselves into SJI’s culture while developing their professional skills. As IGNITE interns, students learn from a team of mentors, participate in networking events, and gain valuable hands-on experience in the energy industry. Their efforts culminate in making a meaningful impact on our business and in the community.

In addition, SJI’s POWER Leadership Development Program is a two-year rotational program that prepares early-career individuals with demonstratable abilities and experiences in leadership, communication, innovation, and initiative to become future leaders within our organization. POWER Program candidates have the opportunity to rotate through three critical areas of the company. During each rotation, SJI provides both formal and on-the-job training to help employees develop their skills and abilities within each respective business area. As a result, POWER employees become vital assets to the organization and are able to leverage their newly acquired leadership skills to think big, lead and inspire and deliver results.

Potential candidates for the IGNITE and POWER programs may submit their information for open positions in October at SJI Careers - Early Careers.
